January 28, 2024
OPENING SCRIPTURE:
HONOR the LORD with your possessions, And with the FIRSTFRUITS OF ALL YOUR INCREASE; So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine (Proverbs 3:9,10 NKJ)
• Concerning The Lord, to honor Him means: To put Him in 1st position.
Feeding of the 5000: Mark 6:34-44
And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with COMPASSION for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things. (Mark 6:34 NKJ)
• Moved with compassion, Jesus saw their spiritual hunger.
When the day was now far spent, His disciples came to Him and said, “This is a deserted place, and already the hour is late. Send them away, that they may go into the surrounding country and villages and buy themselves bread; for they have nothing to eat.” (Mark 6:35-36 NKJ)
• Jesus was setting up the stage for one of the greatest miracles.
“YOU GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO EAT.” And they said to Him, “Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?” (Mark 6:37 NKJ)
• Jesus was not concerned how much it cost. Jesus was challenging them to think outside of the box.
• That’s how it is with a vision from God. It has to be impossible!
“How many loaves do you have?” Go and see! (Mark 6:38 NKJ)
• He is not asking here, because He does not know!
• He’s asking, because he wants you involved in the miracle.
The Principle of Multiplication will always involve you. Why? Because you are part of God’s equation!
Then He commanded them to make them all sit down in groups on the green grass. So they sat down in ranks, in hundreds and in fifties. And when He had taken the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven, BLESSED and broke the loaves, AND GAVE THEM TO HIS DISCIPLES to set before them; … So they all ate and were filled. And they took up twelve baskets full of fragments (Mark 6:39-43 NKJ)
POINT #1: BLESSED IN HIS HANDS
“He looked up to heaven, BLESSED and broke the loaves, AND GAVE THEM TO HIS DISCIPLES”
• He blessed it and then He gave it back to the disciples.
• Bringing it to God first is a matter of honor! It is a matter of putting God first!
POINT #2: MULTIPLIED IN MY HANDS
• Where did the Multiplication miracle take place? In Jesus’ hands or the disciples’ hands?
• The multiplication happened in the disciples’ hands!
• Jesus blessed the bread, broke it and handed it over to the disciples. As they gave it away it multiplied.
HONOR the LORD with your possessions, And with the FIRSTFRUITS OF ALL YOUR INCREASE; So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine (Proverbs 3:9,10 NKJ)
• When you take the firstfruit of your increase and you place it first in the Master’s hand. It is blessed!
• When the Master hands it back to you, it is not only blessed by it has the power to multiply.
