Flip Your Story – Week 1

Flip Your Story – Week 1

April 7, 2024

OPENING STATEMENT: Flip Your Story is about changing the narrative of Your Story.
The narrative is the storyline. Where are you getting the narrative? Whose voice is louder in that narrative? Is it the voice of others that’s louder? Is it the voice of the enemy? Or is it the voice of God that’s louder?
Whichever voice you feed the most will set the tone for your own voice.

OPENING SCRIPTURE:
MY SHEEP hear MY VOICE, and I know them, and they follow Me. (John 10:27 NKJ)

Whose voice will be the loudest in your life?
God’s promises are the loudest right in the middle of your storm.

MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE, and I KNOW THEM, and they FOLLOW ME. And I give them ETERNAL LIFE, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. (John 10:27-28 NKJ)

• That’s the voice you want to follow in the middle of your storm.
• Flipping your story…starts when you allow His voice to be the loudest in your life!

#1 COURAGE

• “Courage is the absence of fear. Courage is acting in spite of fear.”
• Courage is action! Courage is movement!

Be STRONG and COURAGEOUs. DO NOT BE AFRAID; DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED, for the LORD YOUR GOD will be with you WHEREVER YOU GO.” (Joshua 1:9 NLT)

• Courage is movement knowing that God is with you wherever you go!
“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the ASSESSMENT THAT SOMETHING ELSE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN FEAR.” (Franklin D. Roosevelt)
• Your assessment will reveal that there is something more important than fear…your faith!

#2: KNOW THE AUTHOR

It might be Your Story…. but you are not the author. God is!

Looking unto Jesus, THE AUTHOR and FINISHER of our faith (Hebrews 12:2 NKJ)

• Your story is about you. You are the main character in your story, but the author is God.
• The best way to Flip your story is to get to know the author, God!

#3: YOUR IDENTITY

• The identity of your character in your story can only defined by Him, the author.

“I KNEW YOU before I FORMED you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I SET YOU APART and APPOINTED YOU as my prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5 NLT)

• God had a story for you, before you were even born.
• Only the author, the One who’s writing your story has the right to IDENTIFY YOU AND CALL YOU BY NAME.

Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have CALLED YOU BY NAME; YOU ARE MINE. (Isaiah 43:1 NLT)

Only THE ONE who GIVES YOU LIFE has the AUTHORITY TO IDENTIFY YOU.

The author of your story is watching and waiting:

Looking unto Jesus, THE AUTHOR and FINISHER of our faith (Hebrews 12:2 NKJ)

• He holds the pen to your story.
